Laundrettes n' Stories

Where do all the lonely men go in town?
- To the Self Service Launderette!
Watching their underwear go up and down
And wishing it was them instead!

Chorus:
Waiting for their life to change
As they watch the drum go round.
And round and round and round and round and round and round..

There he goes with his frayed old sports bag,
Side by side just like old friends.
Looking as lost as a single sock,
And burning a cigarette end.

Chorus:
Longing for his life to change
As he watches the drum go round.
And round and round and round and round and round and round..

One cold winter in Versailles
We warmed up inside a drum like this
Waiting for our blood to melt
- We were two frozen refugees.

Chorus:
Waiting for our lives to change
As we watched the drums go round.
And round and round and round and round and round and round.

Sheets and socks and bloodstained pants
Towels and shirts and leggings and jeans
All tumble together in this Launderette dance
While we dream our suburban dreams.

Chorus:
Longing for our lives to change,
As we watch the drums go round.
And round and round and round and round and round and round.
